Terms of Service

Agreement

These terms apply to your use of chasekeating.com (the "site"), operated by Chase Keating ("I", "me"). By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the site.

These terms cover the website only. Any actual consulting work is governed by a separate signed agreement, and where the two conflict, that agreement wins.

What this site is

An informational and marketing site describing consulting services, along with articles about AI, automation, and marketing. Nothing on it creates a client relationship, and nothing on it is an offer capable of acceptance.

Content is information, not advice

Articles, guides, and any other material here are general information published in good faith at a point in time. AI tooling moves quickly and specifics go stale. Nothing here is professional, legal, financial, tax, investment, or security advice, and it is not a substitute for engaging someone who knows your circumstances.

Any outcome, metric, or result described, whether mine or a client's, is illustrative of what has happened before, not a prediction or guarantee of what will happen for you. Testimonials reflect those individuals' experience only.

The partnership page is not an offer

The equity partnership page describes the structure I typically start from when joining a company as an equity partner. It is a description of an approach, not an offer, term sheet, solicitation, or commitment, and it is not an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security. Any actual arrangement depends on diligence on both sides and takes effect only through a written agreement signed by both parties and reviewed by each party's own counsel.

Intellectual property

The content, design, code, and graphics on this site are mine or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may read it, share links to it, and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not republish it wholesale, sell it, or present it as your own. Third-party names and logos belong to their owners and appear for identification only, which does not imply endorsement or partnership.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or anything connected to it.
  • Do not scrape, crawl, or harvest at a volume that degrades the site for anyone else.
  • Do not use the site to break the law or infringe someone else's rights.
  • Do not introduce malware or attempt to interfere with how the site works.

Third-party links and embedded content

The site links to and embeds third-party services: scheduling, video, social platforms. I do not control them, do not endorse them by linking, and am not responsible for their content, availability, terms, or privacy practices. Once you follow a link you are subject to that provider's terms.

Availability

I make no promise that the site is available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and I may change, suspend, or remove any part of it at any time without notice.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty as to accuracy or completeness. Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of implied warranties, in which case that exclusion may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or connected to your use of the site, whether the claim is framed in contract, tort, or otherwise, and even if I was advised such damages were possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, my total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case the limitation applies only as far as the law permits.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and I submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Alberta, Canadafor any dispute arising out of them, and each of us waives any objection to that venue.

Severability and waiver

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary. Not enforcing a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.

Changes

I may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
